Berrick Salome Parish Drainage Group – Update 14th March 2026

The lining and sealing work planned by Thames Water 16/03 – 18/03 in lower Roke and 19/03 – 21/03 in Rokemarsh have been cancelled.

It therefore follows that the road closures planned to facilitate these works have also been cancelled.

It had always been stressed that the works were subject to suitable weather and groundwater conditions and on 13/03, TW confirmed that high groundwater levels were indeed the reason for the cancellation.

It takes around 12 weeks for OCC Highways to grant traffic closure permits. Hence, TW is now targeting early June for the planned works to be done/completed.

However, TW acknowledge that repair and rehabilitation work should not have to wait that long. BSPDG is in dialogue with them on that matter and we hope to have a further update on it soon.
